Dah pada tahu bukan kalau Astaga.com lifestyle on the net waktu finalnya tinggal beberapa hari lagi untuk mengetahu siapa juara lifestyle on the net di Astaga.com. Blog Dofollow kali ini sangat antusias sekali melihat betapa serunya suasana menjelang detik detik penghabisan. Semua tehnik yg di miliki blogger sudah waktunya di keluarkan. Karena jika sudah beberapa jam sebelum berakhirnya kejuaran dari Astaga.com lifestyle on the net sudah kurang berarti lagi. Karena google juga memerlukan waktu untuk bisa melakukan perubahan index.

Saya kira posisi tidak akan berubah secara drastis seperti ini sebelumnya, namun semua itu di luar prediksi blogger lifestyle seperti saya. Banyak sekali perubahan posisi di 20 besar hasil pencarian keyword Astaga.com lifestyle on the net di google.co.id. Salah satunya jumlah index, kalau gak salah beberapa minggu belakang hasil pencarian sudah mencapai 4 juta lebih namun sekarang tinggal 3 juta lebih. Kelihatannya nona google mulai melakukan seleksi artikel, mana yang pantas tampil dan tidak.

Faktor penyaringan Astaga.com lifestyle on the net bisa salah satunya duplicate posting dan jumlah kata yang terlalu singkat sehingga google menganggap postingan Astaga.com lifestyle on the net tersebut kurang bermutu untuk bisa di tampilkan. Nah untuk anda semua hal tersebut bisa di jadikan pelajaran berharga, berhati hetilah untuk sekarang ini dalam menulis dan mempublish sebuah artikel lifestyle, apalagi judul yg digunakan untuk artikel tersebut memiliki jumlah pesaing tinggi misalnya artikel untuk ngeping link kontes seo.

Kembali pada masalah kedudukan sementara lifestyle on the net , memang perbedaan sungguh banyak. Biasanya, kita mempercantik blog dengan menjejalkan aneka kode HTML, CSS, Javascript, Jquery, dll ke dalam template blog kita. Baik lewat menu Elemen Halaman, Edit HTML, atau kedunya. Imbasnya, blog anda menjadi lebih lambat diload. Hal ini tentu sangat menyebalkan bagi yang memiliki kecepatan internet dibawah keong... Untuk yang pake broadband connection atau yang koneksi internetnya melesat bak roket luar angkasa sih, hal itu tak menjadi masalah...

Masalahnya tidak semua orang punya koneksi internet yang melesat seperti roket luar angkasa. Kadangkala ada juga yang memiliki koneksi internet yang lelet dan lemot. 1. Jangan pake template yang berat.
Yup! Itu dia kuncinya. Jangan pake template yang berat... maksudnya, template yang pake banyak gambar. Karena gambar bisa membuat lemot blog anda.

2. Jangan kebanyakan widget/javascript.
Widget dan javascript bisa membuat blog anda berat. Maka, sebaiknya, widget dan javascript di blog anda dikurangi.

3. Kompres CSS anda.
Ini juga bisa dijadikan cara mempercepat loading blog. Ada banyak tool kompressor di dunia ~~ayam~~, seperti http://www.csscompressor.com/ dan masih banyak lagi.

Anda tidak harus menghilangkan Javascript di blog anda, namun anda bisa menguranginya. Dan, jangan terlalu banyak widget di blog anda, karena bisa membuat blog anda lama diloadingnya, dan, apabila pengunjung blog tidak sabar, mereka bisa saja tidak jadi berkunjung ke blog kita, dan akhirnya kita bisa kehilangan pengunjung blog kita. Seperti lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh Firman:

4 Ways to Overcome the “Nobody’s Reading My Blog” Blues

Blogs are a great way to brand your business and create a buzz about personal and professional agendas.

But, let's face it; the R.O.I. (return on investment) can be a bit low in the beginning.

In my many years as a professional writer and relationship columnist, I've started several, gotten frustrated, lost the momentum, and decided to move on to bigger and better things. Then I would visit other sites, love the energy, read the success stories of how Blogs were turned to book deals, and well, have since reconsidered.

After all, it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind. Right?

Here's the problem: because I enjoyed a pretty good "following" as a relationship columnist and feature writer, I expected to have as much traffic on my site as Chicago's Eisenhower Expressway during rush hour! Wrong.

I would devote hours to choosing a hot topic, penning my thoughts, finding the perfect graphics, and see 0 "comments" posted for all my efforts.

This happened for several consecutive months. I started to call it quits, but much like a romantic relationship, I felt I was too far in to throw in the towel.

There would be nothing to show for my sweat equity.

So the strategist in me decided to work smarter, not harder this time.

I started visiting other sites with a mission. I wanted to know what was out there, how it compared to my online journal, and essentially what worked and what didn't as a reader.

Here's what I discovered and you will too. Even Blogs that have huge followings rarely have a lot of comments posted. Readers either don't take the time to post their thoughts, don't know how to register their comments, or don't recognize the importance of their input.

In fact, the only way I knew folks were even reading my work is that my friends would call me on the phone or send Emails to tell me how much they enjoyed my posts. Go figure.

So, the next time you suffer from a bout of the "nobody's reading my Blog blues" here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. Recognize that success doesn't come overnight. Blogging, even more so than any other form of writing, requires a lot of time and patience before it begins to bloom and take off.

2. Know that numbers can sometimes be deceiving. Have you ever gone on a diet? Most folks who have can tell you that the scale sometimes will show the same weight even though you've lost inches and your clothes are baggier. Pay less attention to the numbers and more attention to the needs of your readers.

3. Write with the right purpose. Rather than penning your way to popularity, use your adventures or misadventures in Blogging to become a better story teller, or to write tighter, or to develop ideas for editorial pieces. No writing done well is ever truly wasted!

4. Don't get bogged in the Blog. Work on other projects that provide immediate gratification. Write a poem, do research, say hi to your Facebook friends. Like all areas in life, balance is important.

Follow these four tips and even if you don't "win friends and influence people" your blogging blues might make you a hit song writer or the next American Idol!

You just never know where space travels can take you.

What Is Link Cloacking?

Do you have a opinion on link cloaking for affiliate marketers? Do the pros use cloaking and should it be a standard practice as an affiliate?

What Is Link Cloaking

First things first, what is link cloaking? It is the practice of using redirects or Javascript to hide affiliate links, thus increasing the conversion rates.

Let’s explain this. Affiliate links are usually very easy to identify. They always contain some numbers and the referral id of the affiliate. One example could be:

If you use such a link, upon hovering the mouse over it the end user would be able to see it on the bottom of his browser (called “status bar”), and this could reduce the chances of him clicking on the link and making a purchase. Why? Because he might suspect that your recommendation/review was biased, and that you are just trying to earn an affiliate commission.

Link cloaking tries to solve this problem. You could use a Javascript link, for example, so that when users hover over your links the status bar would display nothing.

A better solution, however, is to use a redirect. That is, you would create another link that redirects to the affiliate one. The easiest way to do that with a URL shortening service like bit.ly. Alternatively you can also use some PHP or a WordPress plugin to create the redirects within your own domain. An example of a redirect could be:

http://www.dailyblogtips.com/go/godaddy

Apart from cloaking your affiliate link the internal redirect might also get a higher click-through rate because some user might believe that they will not leave your website by clicking on the link.

Do the Pros Use It?

Yes the professional affiliate marketers use link cloaking, and it is a very widespread tactic around the web.

Some users frown upon cloaked links, because they won’t know where the link is pointing. Pro affiliate marketers are only worried with the bottom line, however, so if the conversion rates increase they will certainly use cloaked links.

My Opinion and a New Trend

I have nothing against using cloaked links. In fact on some affiliate marketing campaigns I promote I do use redirects. My main motivation for that is to be able to track clicks, but it ends up working as a link cloak as well.

However, I believe that the use of link cloaking is becoming less important in certain contexts. For example, if you promote affiliate products with reviews on your blog you might not need to use link cloaking, and if you do cloak your links you might not see an improvement on your conversion rates.

Why? Because your readers will know that you are promoting an affiliate offer (at least they should), and they will expect an affiliate link there. If you are upfront and transparent, therefore, you won’t need to cloak your links at all.

On other contexts link cloaking will remain important, though. One example would be on landing pages where you drive PPC traffic. You have no relationship with the people that will visit your page, so cloaking the affiliate links will probably increase your conversion rates.

I confess I am a little stubborn when it comes to technology and software choices. If something is working fine, I will stick with it, and making me change to another platform will take a lot of effort.

Bloglines, the RSS reader, is a good example. I started using it around four years ago, and it worked just fine for what I needed. Then Google launched Google Reader. I created an account there initially, and even used it for a couple of weeks, but then I returned to Bloglines, because I was used to it.

But then a couple of weeks ago I started noticing an issue: apparently some of the RSS feeds I was subscribed to were not being pulled. Probably it was a small glitch on my account, but it was pretty annoying.

That convinced me to try Google Reader again. So far I am liking it. I still believe Bloglines was faster and simpler to use (two features I highly value on any piece of software), but Google Reader has more features and is more customizable.

What about you guys, what RSS reader do you use? Have you tried many of them before settling down?

InsyaAllah postingan kali ini, kembali saya ingin mengetengahkan tutorial penerapan JQuery pada template blogger. Berbeda dari tutorial-tutorial sebelumnya dimana source saya peroleh dari web-web designer luar, maka tutorial kali ini lahir dari hasil pengamatan pada sebuah free blogger template yang dikenal dengan Elegant Dashboard, tidak jauh berbeda dengan lahirnya tutorial terdahulu dengan judul menu slider versi 2 yang juga saya pelajari dari free blogger template Zinmag Primus. Nah sekarang langsung pada tutorial, cara membuat simple content slideshow menggunakan JQuery

1. Setelah sig in pada account blogger sobat>>> pada dasbor>>> Klik Tata Letak>>> Edit HTML

2. Tambahkan Script JQuery berikut sebelum tag </head>

Anda dapat dengan mudah berbagi video hanya dengan embed code. Sama halanya dengan pemasangan berbagai widget untuk blog Anda seperti recent comment misalnya. Namun sebelum Anda tambahkan ke blog Anda, mungkin Anda ingin check dulu atau melihat previewnya. Anda bisa melakukannya dengan trik yang sangat mudah. Anda cukup memasukkan HTML atau JavaScript tersebut di address bar Anda dengan diawali data:text/html,

Bagi Anda yang masih asing dengan google buzz, silahkan baca Tentang Buzz, dan ikuti juga berbagai tips seperti menambahakan tombol buzz ke blog untuk traffic Anda, juga rangkaian serial buzz sebelumnya tentang berbagai fitur dan kemudahan penggunaan buzz. Jika sudah, sekarang saatnya Anda sunting profil Anda untuk mempersiapkan pemanfaat buzz nantinya.

1. Login ke gmail.com
2. Klik tombol Buzz di bagian sidebar kiri di bawah link inbox Anda.
3. Klik link Edit di sebelah kanan nama Anda

Ganti URL Profil
Pada keadaan standart URL profil Anda mengandung susunan angka yang tentu susah dihafal. Silahkan gulir kebawah dan perhatikan bagian Profile URL. Centang pada Your Profile URL Is. Klik Save Changes. Nah, sekarang link ke porfil Anda lebih mudah diingat.

Sunting Contact Info
Anda bisa mengubah berbagai data kontak Anda dengan klik tab Contact info di sebelah atas.

Tambahkan Foto
Silahkan klik tab Photo di bagian atas atas halaman sunting Anda. Anda bisa dengan mudah menambahkan foto dari Picasa, Flickr atay layanan lain hanya dengan memasukkan feeds url.

Untuk melihat profil Anda silahkan klik My Profile pada menubar. Semoga bermanfaat dan jangan lupa untuk membangun jaringan Anda dengan follow saya di Buzz.
